Michele Lamy is so much more than Rick Owens’ life partner, wife and muse: in addition to inspiring countless dark and loosely-fitting collections, she is also an accomplished long-time boxer.
Owens’ fixation on physical fitness is well-known by this point, but Lamy is also a surprisingly dedicated gym buff, and it is with this hobby in mind that the Level 42 Necromancer herself invited the New York Times’ T Magazine in to her local boxing gym to teach soft-bellied mortals how to throw a punch. Her advice is simple and it reaffirms that what the world really needs is a Gothic boxing flick where Lamy plays the wizened mentor figure — think Yoda, but with gold teeth and rings.
