hanon and Diadora's B.Elite "83 Final" Celebrates the Spirit of the Underdog
A tribute to Aberdeen F.C.’s first European Cup victory.
Scottish sneaker retailer hanon has linked back up with Diadora to present the sequel to its “Spirit of ‘83” collaboration, which celebrates Aberdeen F.C.’s historic victory — under the management of the then-ascendant Alex Ferguson — over Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid in the 1983 European Cup Final. While the first collaborative B.Elite paid tribute to the Scottish club’s red-and-white home stripe, this latest release draws inspiration from that fateful night’s stormy conditions.
The predominantly thunder gray silhouette also showcases Diadora’s handmade Italian craftsmanship: the upper and tongue are executed in kangaroo leather, complemented with suede overlays, leather insoles and a pin-stripe collar lining inspired by the kit worn by the 1983 champions. Dual branding appears on the heel and tongue.
This pair drops exclusively at hanon on February 20, but be quick — stock is extremely limited.
