Vans Joins Forces With Japanese Baseball Team Hiroshima Toyo Carp for a Slip-On
Very rare.
Vans has released a number of unique collaborations over the years, but rarely has it been associated with a baseball team, let alone a franchise in Asia. As one of the major sports in Japan, teams in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league attract a legion of fans week in, week out, while even the country’s high school and university ranks receive significant media attention during major tournaments. One of the most storied franchises in NPB is Hiroshima Toyo Carp, whose players don a distinct red and white jersey which is displayed in a fitting anime form along the canvas construction of the laceless sneaker. Additional accents of red and navy provide the finishing touches to the upper, which sits atop of a crisp white vulcanized sole. Available in men’s, women’s and children’s sizes, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp x Vans Slip-On will be releasing exclusively at ABC-MART Hiroshima Parco on October 7.
