Raf Simons' 2017 Spring/Summer Collection Is Filled With Monochromatic Portraits
Culling the work of NYC-based photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe.
This past June, Raf Simons presented his 2017 spring/summer menswear offering at Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Italy. Simons’ latest range for the warmer seasons is heavily influenced by the work of NYC-based photographer Robert Mapplethorpe who is widely-recognized for his black and white portraits that strongly focus on homoeroticism. Simons culls certain key visuals from Mapplethorpe and embellishes them on a series of soft goods including overalls, knits, hoodies, flannels and T-shirts to name a few. What’s more, his accompanying footwear for the collection sees the label’s Ozweego 2 in deep black, bold navy and sleek beige, Raf Simons x adidas Stan Smith Leather sneakers in crisp white as well as a pair of slides thrown in the eclectic batch.
Raf Simons’ 2017 spring/summer collection is now available for pre-order at Antonioli.eu. Take a look at select pieces above and let us know your favorite items in the range.
