UNDERCOVER's 2016 Fall/Winter Collection Is Heavily Inspired by 18th Century Art
A fluid mix of staple and statement pieces.

Japanese brand UNDERCOVER has just released its latest collection for the 2016 fall/winter season. The drop is called “Instant Calm” and is a balanced mix of well-tailored formalwear, staple items and statement pieces that are heavily inspired by 18th century portraiture. The key pieces feature artwork by Belgian artist Michael Borremans, with intricately painted faces evidenced on the backs of overcoats. The collection utilizes both a predominantly monochromatic soft, earth tones mixed with printed patterns. This encapsulates the brand’s aesthetic as the fall/winter release contains pieces for any occasion and at the same time, any taste. The standout piece is the M-51 zip-up coat that sports Borremans’ portrait, dubbed “Black Mould.” Stay tuned for more information regarding release as it becomes available.
