Stussy Tribe OGs, Ian Connor and A$AP Bari Talk Street Culture on 'No Vacancy Inn' Radio
Creative directed by Acyde & Denim Tears in Tokyo’s Hotel Pearl.
Conceived as the brainchild of Acyde and Denim Tears, No Vacancy Inn launched towards the end of 2015 as a radio show recorded from various parts of the globe. Past sessions featured household names in streetwear — think Virgil Abloh, Anti Social Social Club, Pigalle, Guillaume Berg, and more — at the duo’s residency in London’s The Scotch. In this four-part segment, the show takes to Tokyo in time for Stussy’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
Rallying up a cohort of the industry’s most revered names, Acyde and Denimtear catch up with creatives behind the Stussy imprint — Daivd Sinatra, Fraser Avey and Adam Weissman — along with Stussy Japan’s brand director Shin Okishima. Elsewhere, Ian Connor and A$AP Bari speak their mind on the definition of style versus fashion and the success of rising rapper Playboi Carti. OG Tribe member Alex Turnbull speak on his forthcoming documentary, before PPP head honchos Charaf Tajer and Stephane Ashpool join the show and go back-and-forth about Pigalle’s Nike collaboration and the intersection between basketball and streetwear. Check out the candid conversations in the four part series above and stay tuned for more.
