Love does reign supreme.

Love reigns supreme, especially for sacai‘s Fall 2016 collection. While you may not be able to see obvious or direct references in the designs, sacai Founder and Designer Chitose Abe, along with Creative Director Daisuke Gemma have used both “Love” and “Life” as inspirations behind the range — perhaps as commentary on the current state of worldly affairs, or perhaps to simply put out good energy. While the brand is heralded by many for its ability to mix seemingly juxtapositioned pieces into one functioning work of art, as well as blur the gender gap in style, its recent approach has been towards changeable piece, where a jacket gets flipped to become a sweater. This was the case for the brand’s fall collection, which may look complicated at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you can tell that every stitch, cut and color choice was meticulously thought up and executed; it appears a lot of love went in to this collection after all.
