IWC Schaffhausen Brings Back the 36mm Pilot's Watch
A nod to “every non-pilot’s favorite pilot’s watch” ahead of the debut of the Mark XVIII.
As gorgeous as timepieces like the brand new Big Pilot’s Heritage designs are, not everyone wants to rock a massive 55mm or 48mm watch. So, if you dig pilot’s designs, but want something a little more modest, IWC has the perfect thing for you: the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 36. Inspired in part by 1994’s beloved Mark XII — “every non-pilot’s favorite pilot’s watch” — and acting as a precursor to the highly anticipated Mark XVIII, IWC’s new entry-level design comes powered by an IWC caliber 35111 movement running at 28,800 vph with a 42-hour power reserve and measures just 36mm in diameter and 10.5mm thick. Coupled with either a bracelet or Santoni leather strap, the watch comes complete with a traditional sunray-brushed dial and date window at the 3 o’clock position.
Expect the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 36 to soon be available at IWC stockists starting at $3,950 USD.
