COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT's 2016 Fall/Winter Collection Plays With Dimensionality
A whimsical workwear-inspired range from Rei Kawakubo’s diffusion label.
COMME des GARÇONS’ diffusion line SHIRT recently showed its 2016 fall/winter collection at Paris Fashion Week, a dynamic range of garments that carries the brand’s hallmark slashing, splicing and reconstruction of premium French-made shirts. In the latest presentation, the pieces play with dimensionality. In typical Rei Kawakubo fashion, an exceptionally unique and whimsical silhouette is created by embellishing tailored dress shirts with protruding star-shaped elements sewn into the hem along both shoulders. Apart from the eye-catching selection of shirts, the collection also includes trousers, sweaters and outerwear. Incorporating workwear-inspired designs, quilted jackets and wide-legged pants perfectly complement the eclectic compositions of quirky graphics and segmented tops that make up the collection.
