Frank Ocean producer Malay announced last week that he would be hosting a Reddit AMA, but asserted that he would not be answering any questions about the release date of Frank Ocean’s forthcoming album Boys Don’t Cry or anything else involving the album. However as we all know, Frank Ocean fans aren’t always rule-abiding yes-men, especially after a few uncalled for delays of the album. One user gave a long statement revealing his issue with the whole rollout situation. Malay wrote back:

First of all we all massively appreciate and love you guys, Frank has told me this himself many times. To be fair though, art cannot be rushed. It’s about making sure the perfect aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that, takes constant tweaking, trial and error. That goes for any creative situation.

After that, the producer answered many other questions related to the channel ORANGE artist. He reveals that he “met Frank initially around ‘08 when [he] was living in ATL.” He also says that Frank smells like: “If God was a woman and ?????????.” Perhaps the most bizarre aspect about the AMA was how Malay repeatedly mentions something called the “Booty Club” alongside multiple green tea emojis. After a user asked what the Booty Club was, Malay crytically answered: “Everyone will get a ticket to the booty club who wants one.” Check out the full Reddit AMA here.
