Essentials: Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION

Los Angeles indietronic rock band, AWOLNATION, has blessed us in this week’s instalment of Essentials. The five-man outfit has already had two studio albums — 2011’s Megalithic Symphony and 2015’s Run — under their belt, and an EPs titled Back from Earth. Although the Red Bull Records-signed band is quite musical and instrument-centric, frontman Aaron Bruno decided to share with us the more lifestyle side to things in his set of Essentials. Clothing-wise, Aaron dons the Oakland Raider’s jacket — which not only keeps him warm when needed, but also to keep bad luck away from him. In the same manner, the LA Dodger cap he wears is both great for skating and good luck. To accommodate his skate lifestyle, Aaron rocks Stance socks and rides on a z-flex skateboard, which he credits as being his “transportation on tour.” On the technological size of things, Aaron carries a laptop to make sure his ideas and music library is at hand; the JVC Elation headphones are his favorite to listen and monitor with. Travelling can also take a toll on his health; he makes sure to stay stocked with supplements, facial creams, healthy snacks and water.

AWOLNATION’s “I Am” was featured in a recent World of Red Bull campaign which was running on TV in the US and online, and has garnered over one billion impressions.
