Less than two weeks after it was suggested that Spotify would launch video content later this year, the streaming platform has done exactly that. Spotify relaunched today with an update highlighted by the addition of video clips and audio shows to the music mix, as well as a brand new “Now” start page that offers tailored playlists for everything from a Monday morning pick-me-up to an after-lunch focus mix — all of which adapt over time to fit your tastes and mood.
The makeover also includes Spotify Running — which features recommendations based on your listening history, multiple-genre playlists and original running compositions written by some of the world’s foremost DJs and composers — so you have the perfect mix of seamlessly-transitioned songs geared toward your workout tempo so you can train harder, better, faster, stronger. Furthermore, a collaboration with Nike is in the works that will offer access to the Spotify Running experience directly through the Nike+ app while Running will also see RunKeeper integration later this year.
Spotify is also set to offer a range of exclusive content, including “Dance Move of the Day” from Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls brand and specially curated radio shows from Tyler, the Creator, Icona Pop, Jungle and more. Users can even access news and clips now from the likes of ABC, BBC, Comedy Central, Condé Nast Entertainment, ESPN, Fusion, Maker Studios, NBC, TED and Vice Media.
You can check out a preview of all the new offerings below while the Now start page, videos, Running and more can all be accessed by downloading the latest version of the app.
