NEPENTHES 2015 Spring/Summer "Spirit of Inquiry" Lookbook

Best known for stocking the most comprehensive selection of Engineered Garments produce, NEPENTHES has released its latest editorial for spring/summer 2015 entitled “Spirit of Inquiry.” Exploring the curiosity of youth, NEPENTHES has adopted its usual lo-fi approach to its visual representation and has seemingly shot the entire editorial on film – obvious by the grainy overlay, desaturated coloring and bright red light bleed. Following Engineered Garments’ direction of “Travel and Safari,” each outfit is seemingly comfortable and loosely tailored, constructed in earth-like tones that reference an almost Arabian military aesthetic with Daiki Suzuki’s preference to fabric technicality made obvious. Subtle pieces are juxtaposed against heavy, complete pattern layers assuring the collection remains a considered clash of color and material. Photographed by Kenta Sawada with styling by Kaori Kawakami, the “Spirit of Inquiry” editorial summarizes the preferences and ideals of all parties, whilst retaining the elements for which each of them has become so well known for over the years.
