Kanye West & Common Enlisted to Star in New Spike Lee Film

The Wrap is reporting that Kanye West and Common have been recruited to star in an upcoming Spike Lee film entitled Chiraq. Kanye’s profile when it comes to movie appearances has been rising, and Common’s role as an actor matches that of his role as a rapper nowadays, so it seems like a good choice on the part of Spike Lee and his team. Jeremy Piven and Samuel Jackson are also being looked at for parts in the film, though scheduling conflicts might prevent them from making the final cut. At present time, not too much is known about Chiraq, though it is believed that the film will see its premiere via Netflix. Amazon Studios have already put their backing behind the venture. At the moment, reps from both Kanye and Common’s camps have yet to comment.
