Seattle-based architecture firm Balance Associates is the mastermind behind the architectural beauty that is the Nahahum lodge. Built in 2009, the residence is a two-story, 1,650 square-foot sanctuary nestled in the rural Nahahum Canyon just north of Cashmere, Washington. Guests enter the home into a large main area equipped with a living room and a kitchen, with massive ceilings and an abundance of glass windows. The main floor also houses a powder room and utility area. Upstairs is where the master suite and guest bedroom and bathroom can be found, as well as a loft-style flex space that sits just above the main living space. The Nahahum lodge’s large overhangs make for extensive panoramic views of the endless rolling hills surrounding it. It is a contemporary wood cabin with clean lines in its design and industrial components, such as its slanted shed roof design, metal countertops and polished concrete floors and walls.
