Swiss watchmaker MB&F and Swiss high-end clock manufacturer L’Epée Clocks have collaborated to create the Melchior Robot Clock. Offered in either a “Light” edition of monochromatic steel, or “Light & Dark” edition of two-tone steel and brass, this timekeeper is made with over 480 parts and its unique design enables it to be both a clock and toy. Features include a 40-day power reserve, sweeping minutes, jumping hours and double retrograde second indicators in place of its eyes. The robot’s arms are mobile for several poses, and the left arm has a detachable Gatling gun that serves as the wind function for movement. Its head is encased in a glass dome which exposes the inner workings of the clock regulator in the location of its brain. With only a limited 99-piece production run, the L’Epée x MB&F Melchior Robot Clock is now available for purchase at MB&F.
