A Look Inside the Off-White™ Hong Kong Store

Virgil Abloh has solidified his reach into the Asian market with the recent opening of the first OFF-WHITE international flagship store in Hong Kong. Located in the Causeway Bay shopping district alongside new shops for COMME des GARÇONS and McQ by Alexander McQueen, the store incorporates a foliage display at the entrance, thick with lush ferns, broadleaved plants and water dripping down from pipes above. Progressing into the retail space, the interior, designed by New York architect Dong Ping Wong of FAMILY NY and Virgil himself, is constructed from poured concrete and made to look like a cave, hence the staggered levels on the walls that also serve as display surfaces for the product. Contrasting sounds of construction and ambient rainforest sounds are played from the speaker system. Bronze pipes rise out of the floor, from which the latest OFF-WHITE men’s collection is hung. Make sure to check out this evocative retail experience if you find yourself in Hong Kong.
