Ronda Rousey Speaks out for First Time on Losing to Holly Holm
“It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple.”
Having been served a crushing defeat by way of Holly Holm’s leg at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey has been silent until now. The former UFC Bantamweight Champion is set to appear on the cover of ESPN The Magazine‘s “Ideas of the Year” issue this Friday, where she recounts being hospitalized after having been knocked unconscious by Holm. Understandably, the fighter is “really fucking sad” about her loss, as well as the dashing of her hopes of finishing her career undefeated. Speaking on her current condition — some of her teeth are still unstable from Holm’s kick to the face — Rousey said, “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.” However, Rousey remains hopeful, adding that “maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done, but fuck it, maybe I can.”
She lost. But she brilliantly conquered 2015. @RondaRousey rocks the cover of our #IdeasOfTheYear issue out on 12/8 pic.twitter.com/5Cyeu8bmBg
