24 Kilates x ASICS GEL-Respector "Virgin Extra"
The esteemed Spanish sneaker boutique celebrates 10 years.
Hot after the release of its GEL-Respector Tonal Pack, ASICS returns again to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of esteemed Spanish sneaker shop 24 Kilates. Drawing aesthetic cues from extra virgin olive oil, which happens to be one of Spain’s premier exports, the sneaker is aptly called “Virgin Extra.” The upper is constructed out of a combination of various textures, including leather, smooth and perforated suede, and a satin-like fabric along the lower tongue tag. Employing a palette of green, tan and purple to recall the coloration of raw Arbequina olives that are used in the production of olive oil, the final product is at once diverse and cohesive. A custom insole featuring an olive branch graphic and “10th anniversary” text rounds off the look.
Additional features exclusive to this model are a metallic olive leaf hang tag and even a bottle of premium extra virgin olive oil packaged within a burlap sack. The “Virgin Extra” GEL-Respector will drop on January 9 exclusively at the 24 Kilates flagship in Barcelona, as well as at the brand’s new Bangkok location. The sneaker will release internationally at select ASICS Tiger retailers the week after.
