Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" Music Video Gets a 'Grand Theft Auto V' Remake
A Playboy model kidnaps Kanye and blows up a Ford Mustang, all in GTA fashion.
Often regarded as the Graduation album’s best song, “Flashing Lights” came out in 2007 as a self-conscious anthem of Mr. West’s infatuation with an unpredictable girlfriend. Featuring vocals by Dwele and Connie Mitchell, the track spun a personal tale of ”all I know is fame” (flashing lights) and delivered an electronic-fused sound that solidified Kanye as more than a hip-hop artist.
The guys at I Can’t Even Productions have remade the slow-motion video in a Grand Theft Auto V edition, created with recorded footage from GTA V for PC and edited with Premiere and Rockstar Video Editor. The video is almost a frame-for-frame copy of the Spike Jonze and Kanye West co-directed music video that featured sultry Playboy model Rita G punishing a tied up Kanye in the trunk of her Ford Mustang Bullit.
