Watch Pharrell's Entire Talk at NYC's Town Hall

Almost two hours of in-depth conversation and storytelling.

As we reported last week, Pharrell and NPR’s Jason King were enlisted for a sitdown exchange at Manhattan’s Town Hall. The event was put together by NPR and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, who had bestowed upon Pharrell a “2015 artist-in-residence” position. Now, the entire exchange is available for streaming. Outside of the normal, more traditional “guest speaker” talks, Pharrell’s conversation with Jason King stood as a live, nearly-two-hour retrospective of the Neptunes hitmaker’s storied career. “Pharrell Williams — performer, songwriter, producer, designer and entrepreneur — sat down for a rare, in-depth, career retrospective discussion with Jason King, professor at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and host of NPR Music’s R&B channel “I”ll Take You There.” The conversation took place on Monday, Oct. 26 at New York City’s Town Hall.

King moderated a freewheeling and in-depth discussion on Pharrell’s legacy of creativity, blending music, fashion, design and his singular style, from his beginnings as a teenage prodigy and multi-instrumentalist in Virginia Beach in the early ’90s through the hits that earned him Billboard’s Producer of the Decade in 2010 to his current status as multi-media superstar.”
