Designed by the innovative, Singapore-based architectural firm PRODUCE, this 100 square meter loft apartment in Novena is an exceptional example of modular design built for a specific purpose. In this case, the space has been created to fit the needs of its’ owner Woon Tai Ho – who as an art collector, critic, author and Director for Media and Marketing of the National Gallery Singapore, needed a space to reflect his distinguished character.
Drawing inspiration from the work Woon Tai Ho has collected over his many years of servitude, PRODUCE have formulated a design embracing the essence of mono-form art and effectively translated it into the space. In this case, the singular presence has been designed as a cage-like structure that effectively connects all aspects of the apartment. As a result, the composition of structural steel rods are present in every room and serve as both an artwork in itself and as a diverse storage system that unifies the aesthetic of the apartments polished concrete pillars and glass dividers.
