Chelsea Clinton Thinks Kanye West's VMA Speech Was "Awesome"
But she still might not be voting for him in 2020.
There is little doubt that Kanye West‘s speech was one of the key moments during the MTV VMAs 2015. Chelsea Clinton, daughter of the 41st POTUS Bill Clinton and current presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, thinks Kanye’s speech is important as it could inspire youths to maximize their potential. She told MTV:
“I definitely think who runs for office is really important. Even if him just saying that helps spark a little boy or a little girl who was watching the VMAs to think, ‘Oh, wow! Maybe I should do that,’ that’s awesome.”
Would she support Kanye if he’d actually run for president in 2020?
“I think it depends on who he’d be running against,” Clinton said — an obvious wink to the fact that if Hillary’s current campaign lands her in the White House again she may be running for a second term by then.
