Vine to Introduce a Variety of Music-Friendly Features

In its over-three years of existence, Vine has been instrumental in propelling the careers of a handful of artists, for example Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot N*gga” and its accompanying Shmurda Shmoney Dance,  the Nae Nae and Whip fad by Silentó. Now, the Twitter-owned video sharing service looks to help facilitate these aspiring artists’ creation process.

According to The FADER,  Vine will roll out a feature called Snap to Beat on Friday, which essentially looks to assist users in creating music vines, automatically trimming vines at the right moments to create seamless perfect loops. Vine has also offered a selection of music that can be added to a user’s clip, as well as a function to edit audio separately, which includes the addition of special sound effects.

In addition to “Snap to Beat,”  Vine is also introducing a “Featured Tracks” page which will be curated by an internal editorial team that show songs currently trending at the moment, and allow the Vine maker to add these tracks onto their creations to join the fun.

Vines will also have music information attached to allow viewers to identify any song by any artist. All these functions add to the progression of Vine as an app, as it looks to compete with Instagram’s integrated video functions. For more information, visit The FADER.
