If you haven’t been put onto Woop yet or stumbled across some of his work on YouTube or LiveMixtapes, here’s your introduction. He’s currently Florida’s strongest prospect, and one of the most instantly-enjoyable street-rappers out there. He started out making Jeezy and “BMF”-esque numbers, and has morphed into his own character: a personalized amalgamation of all that’s good and holy in down-South trap-rap. His raps are filled with Molly, syrup, gunplay, bricks and all similar trap ventures, but the melodic way he raps and strings words together over stellar production makes him stand out. Just listen to songs like “So Cold” and try not to have fun — it’s not possible. Like Woop tells Complex about today’s drop, “you can’t help but vibe to it.” Also, his street single “Pussy N*gga” lit up the Southern club market and warranted an official Kevin Gates and Yo Gotti remix. Recently, Woop linked up with Migos for a remix of his 2013 heat-rock “Go Away.” Woop and his team have released the remix in preparation for Woop’s forthcoming #IDGAF project, which is sure to deliver. For now, you can check out the Migos-assisted remix of “Go Away” above.
