On a call to investors, Elon Musk revealed that Tesla’s mainstream vehicle is tentatively scheduled

On a call to investors, Elon Musk revealed that Tesla‘s mainstream vehicle is tentatively scheduled to be unveiled next March. The Model 3 is touted to be Tesla’s more affordable vehicle, while the flagship Model S and upcoming Model X will remain higher-end choices at higher price points with more luxurious features. Musk stressed that the March 2016 date is a goal, and may change in the coming months. The vehicle is able to drive 200 miles on a single charge and production will begin mid to late 2017, with a $35,000 USD price tag. It’s 20 percent smaller than the Model S, and marks an important move for the electric automobile company to reach out to a bigger audience with more affordable vehicles.
