After producing the ever-played 2014 hit “Multiply” by A$AP Rocky, and working with the likes of LA rapper Bones, Curtis Heron (who was featured in our producer to watch for list this year) has returned with his own offering, titled “Grow.” The young beat-maker proves his worth once again, with this emotive and powerful piece that speaks volumes of talent. Having worked with some of the hottest artists, it’s apparent that Heron’s worth has been acknowledged in all the right places. “Grow” does just that, it develops and grows into a haunting vocal-complimented melody, perfect for easy-listening; but also ripe for a feature. The slow and decisive piano chords are consistent, with a rolling click beat and under-stated video-game synths, working alongside the gradual crescendo of sound. With his trademark “Curtis” soundfont, we expect big things this year from the young producer.
