Illsnapmatix Presents a Selection of the Best In-Game Photographs from Grand Theft Auto V
While many will argue video game photography isn’t real art, evidence supporting its artistic merit
While many will argue video game photography isn’t real art, evidence supporting its artistic merit continues to rack up. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than with Rockstar’s latest classic, Grand Theft Auto V. With GTA V now outputting in gorgeous high resolution on PS4, Xbox One and PC, photographers are taking full advantage of the game’s photo app to capture the vast and visually stunning worlds of Los Santos and Blaine County. Some of the best and most creative shots have been curated by Illsnapmatix, a website dedicated to “virtual light” (i.e. in-game photography). From a beautifully composed shot of Little Seoul’s hazy skyline, to a dark, imposing shot of a lone car approaching in Vinewood Hills, Illsnapmatix’s gallery is full of images that make it very difficult to deny the medium’s artistic validity. See for yourself — head over to Illsnapmatix to check out the full series.
