In 2011, Nike released 1,500 pairs of the manual-lacing sneakers worn by Michael J. Fox‘s fictional character Marty McFly in Back to the Future II, resulting in one of the most hyped sneaker releases of this decade. Sold exclusively on eBay and at live charity events, the Mag 2011 raised over $5.6 million USD for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, with the likes of British rapper Tinie Tempah paying upwards of $37,500 USD for a pair. Three years later, we’ve caught wind that the Mag 2015 might actually be equipped with a hands-free self-lacing system and on track for its highly-anticipated September 8, 2015 release. Stay tuned for more on what is undoubtedly one of the top sneaker releases of 2015, but in the meantime feel free to share your thoughts on the Mag 2015 in the comments below.
