If you didn’t know by now, Quartersnacks has a collaboration shoe coming out with Nike SB. For the privy, the blog requires no further introduction. It has devoted countless hours to documenting the minutia of New York skateboarding – its fallacies, its victories, its #trends and its most #hurt moments – creating a bold narrative for a niche that is, rather ironically, simultaneously revered and hushed. Hours spent warming the benches at Tompkins Square Park, sipping sweating iced coffees, churning the rumor mill, and learning flatground tricks have never yielded a more productive end result.
Despite this fame, it’s nice to know the dudes that keep it running are never too cool to be themselves – evidenced by the clip above. Despite this momentous occasion, “Afters” is the quintessential Quartersnacks clip: the gang gathers at that same Mulberry Street grocery to skate everything below 14th Street, is filmed entirely at night, and is set to relatively obscure mixtape anthems. In short – it’s everything you need to know about New York that is summarized in two and a half minutes.
At the end of the day (literally, see above), the Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low was designed with skateboarding obsessively considered. It’ll go on sale at skate shops beginning August 23. Celebrate the Snackman and Quartersnacks with “Afters” above, then be sure to pick up this very special release on Saturday.
