Is Kevin Durant leaving Nike to sign with Under Armour? That seems to be main buzz surrounding the All-Star and reigning scoring champ Kevin Durant as he gets ready for another season with the Thunder. Much has been made of the fact that his endorsement with Nike — worth $60 million USD over seven years — expired last week with no follow-up or announcement coming from either camp in the week since. Under Armour – a brand that, like Durant, calls the DMV area home – is the name on everyone’s lips as a likely next stop for Durant, particularly as it’s being reported that the brand would be ready to shell out a monster $30 million USD a year for the star.
At this point everything remains speculation, but $30 million USD a year certainly is an attractive figure, particularly when compared to the $60 million USD over seven years – a figure that works out to just under $8.6 million USD a year. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement to know where he ends up but what do you think? Would you like to see a big name like Durant make a move to Under Armour and, if so, would you be interested in his signature shoe? Sound off below and stay tuned for more.
