Officially unveiled earlier this year at the “Tailored for Flight: Air Jordan XX9″ event in New York (seen here), here we present a closer look at the Air Jordan XX9 “Team Orange.” Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the shoe features a black performance-woven upper made from a single piece of lightweight material. Upon closer inspection, strategically-placed tunnels come to light and it is apparent that the secure midfoot lockdown is achieved through the integration of the Flight Web straps at the laces. A standout visual element is the oversized bright orange Jumpman logo positioned towards the heel, which offers up a design unlike any Air Jordan to date. The innovative upper rests atop an all-new Flight Plate, which combines Nike Zoom Air units at the forefoot and heel with a Pebax plate to harness the explosiveness of the athlete when taking off. This pioneering technology is packaged in a glossy black midsole and an icy semi-translucent outsole. The Air Jordan XX9 “Team Orange” drops on September 6 over at Nike for $225 USD.
