For all its efforts in modernizing the ZX canon, adidas Originals pays homage to two of the original releases from 1989 with the “‘000 OG Weave” pack – featuring the ZX Flux Weave. Drawing influence from the launch colorways of both the ZX8000 and the ZX9000, it seems no small coincidence that a triplet of ‘0’s precede the “OG” in the pack title. The “Aqua” blue colorway takes cues from the original ZX8000 – executed with tonal blue and yellow hints around the upper – while the other model blends pale turquoise with red and white accents per the ZX9000. While both sneakers are meant to nod to retro paneling, either version is designed with a singular, breathable woven jacquard upper, which rests atop the re-tooled Torsion midsole. Look for the ZX8000 version to release globally on August 1, with the ZX9000-influenced shoe following on September 5.
