PEIR WU may be a new name to most but the Singapore-born, London-based designer boasts some serious fashion pedigree. In 2011, Wu graduated from the prestigious MA Programme at Central Saint Martins College, after which she honed her skills under Raf Simons and launched her eponymous menswear label. PEIR WU’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection is the latest from the talented designer, and a range that continues her Eastern-influenced, contemporary take on ’90s minimalism. Playing with the idea of “hyper-modernity,” the collection features tactile fabrics, elongated cuts and progressive elements to form modern riffs on traditional menswear silhouettes, including bomber jackets, shirts, trousers and blazers. Wu’s handcrafted, artisanal touch, meanwhile, results in a range that’s at once futuristic and primitive, and tailor-made for a “brave new world.” Look for the collection soon — as well as more information — at PEIR WU’s website.
