Digging through the crates to the mid-1980s, Converse CONS is set to unveil three new iterations of the Weapon silhouette. The sneaker gets a handsome update from the original, presented here in three limited sub-collections – the “Ray” pack, the “Reflective Mesh” pack, and also a First String “Patchwork” rendition. The “Ray” pack finds the shoe outfitted with heathered cotton and jersey mesh throughout the paneled upper, with contrasting splatter-painted Y-bars bonded at the heel. Elsewhere, the “Reflective Mesh” collection is done up with bold red or purple mesh around the top portion, backed up with a reflective layer that reacts to light. The First String “Patchwork” version of the sneaker is a special version that celebrates the sneaker’s heritage in basketball, collaging various mesh textures and patterns across the upper to create a unique effect. Look for the “Ray” pack to drop July 11 and the “Reflective Mesh” on August 9, while the “Patchwork” Weapon will drop exclusively at First String retailers on June 13.
