Kasabian have shared the lead single of their upcoming fifth album 48:13, which is named for its running time. The song’s called “eez-eh” and will be officially released on June 2. It’s premiere was celebrated earlier tonight at Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show. The accompanying artwork for the album is the same as the mural the band painted on a shop on Kingsland Road in London’s Dalston earlier this month. Sergio Pizzorno, who wrote and produced the album said:
“I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding.”
The band’s frontman Tom Meighan added:
“Less is more, you know? It’s direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We’ve had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It’s unbelievable.”
