Starter offers up three distinct collections for the Spring/Summer 2014 season as it channels inspiration from post-war counterculture, Egyptian astrology and classic television hits of the ’90s: “Veteran Summer,” “Hydrometric” and “Philly Fresh.” The “Veteran Summer” drop features everything from tattoo iconography to military humor and aircraft art as it introduces hand-drawn custom camo patterns, 1940s World War II combat shark motifs and metallic accents. The “Hydrometric” release, on the other hand, combines technical sporting fabrics and bold colorways with intricate astrological patterns that evoke themes from the past, present and future. Finally, the “Philly Fresh” collection references the ’90s with nods to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, White Men Can’t Jump, and even an Aztec-patterned Coogi x Jazzy Jeff Starter jacket. Starter’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection will be available with the introduction of the “Veteran Summer” collection this month while the “Hydrometric” and “Philly Fresh” releases are set for April and May, respectively.
