While Shaq Diesel’s infamous forays into film and music have been much maligned – he even earned a “Worst Actor” Razzie nomination for 1997’s Steel – one piece that stands out from the future hall-of-famer’s filmography is 1994’s Blue Chips. Now, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the cult classic – which stars Shaquille O’Neal alongside then-Magic teammate Penny Hardaway as college basketball stars for Nick Nolte’s fictional Western University Dolphins – New Jersey’s Packer Shoes is set to drop a special edition of the Reebok Shaq Attaq. Teased here, the kicks look to come decked out in Western University’s school colors while Benjamin-adorned insoles are a nod to the lavish gifts handed out by a school booster – hence the “friend of the program” label.
