Will the Mercedes-Benz AMG GTS Outshine the AMG SLS?

Intended to be a successor rather than a replacement — fitting closer in with sport coupés rather than the larger super-grand tourers — Mercedes-Benz‘s AMG division delivers its second fully in-house created sports vehicle for 2015. While many fans were sad to see the flagship grand tourer put to rest just after only fours years of production, others are beginning to understand the need for a change. With a shorter wheelbase, the GTS is considerably lighter, puts out 503hp and 479 lb-ft of torque via a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, and sits at a lower price tier. While the curvy body and absence of lines still runs in the family, the GTS sheds its iconic gull-wing doors and is meant to go after the more compact two-door sports segment, such as Porsche’s versatile 911. We head to the track to get a closer look at the new vehicle and to see if the decision to change-up the SLS was justifiable. Let us know below which version you prefer.
