Having released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy have revealed the names of the characters featured in a decidedly retro fashion. When the original Star Wars movie was released in 1977, the Topps trading card company, better known for collectible cards of baseball players and comic book characters, released a series of red and blue trading cards depicting various characters and scenes in the film to commemorate the occasion. Abrams and Kennedy have rehashed this method, revealing the names of the characters played by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac, as well as that adorable ball droid — and there is reason to believe that more cards are on their way.
