North Carolina’s very own J. Cole has released yet another music video to accompany his latest album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Intended to be available as of yesterday, Cole’s album was leaked early and has been available to stream online since.

In his latest visual installment for the track “Apparently,” we see a long-haired Cole in sole focus throughout the clips duration. With a transitional feel spanning the ups and downs of personal regret, the rapper moves back and forth in front of a pixelated backdrop gazetting a picture of his mother – a topic often referenced in his lyrics. Obvious connotations can be drawn from the prominent use of blue throughout the video as it forms an emotional tie to the story he begins to weave. A progression of camera angles and lighting helps further engage the viewer by using color stimulus to evoke emotions relative to the track’s lyrical content.

2014 Forest Hills Drive is now available to stream here and should you need more Fayetteville visuals, check out the music video for “Intro” here.
