The adidas Originals Tubular Design Process with Nic Galway

Get a deeper look inside the design process of the Tubular from adidas Originals with VP of Global Design, Nick Galway. For Nick, the ultimate goal of the Tubular project was to push the boundaries of sneaker culture – to create something new without losing the spirit of the Originals brand. Here, Nick wanted to craft an unmistakable silhouette – one that gives the shoe a striking, yet cohesive overall form. The outsole features a similarly clean design, utilizing a supportive ring of EVA that loops around a softer tube for an added layer of cushioning. A unique evolution of Originals’ design DNA, the Tubular undoubtedly achieves Nick’s goal of a shoe that’s anything but boring. The Tubular runners will be available starting November 21 at select adidas Originals retailers worldwide.
