Ronnie Fieg & New Balance Take Inspiration from Central Park & the Brooklyn Bridge

Ronnie Fieg further stakes a claim as a preeminent New York designer by honoring the city through two new releases with New Balance. Taking on the challenging M530 and M850 silhouettes for the project, the “Central Park” and “Brooklyn Bridge” releases cleverly sequel last year’s “Daytona” release by again playing physical representations of Fieg’s personal homes. Here, the M530 “Central Park” is meant to symbolize the park at its autumnal peak, using burgundy oily pigskin suede throughout the paneling at the forefoot and toe box. These features are complimented by the precise color use: bold goldenrod at the signature ‘N’ logo and underneath the midfoot netting; olive at the quilted poly lining. Elsewhere, the M850 “Brooklyn Bridge” draws not on the structure itself, but the context in which it lives. The upper is meant to reflect the gradient of the sky behind the majestic bridge, marrying rich blue suede at the toe and midfoot with perforated saddle leather at the heel. Red hits at the side logo and tongue, symbolic of the national flag atop the bridge, and a custom printed insole complete this shoe. Priced at $185 USD and $175 USD respectively, both offerings will be available for purchase at KITH locations and online beginning November 28.
