Before its official unveiling at SIHH, Ralph Lauren premieres its newest RL 67 Safari Chronometer. Smaller than last year’s 44mm casing, the 2014 edition becomes a bit more wearable with a 39mm measurement. Mechanically, this timepiece features the brand’s self-winding calibre RL300-1 based on a Sellita movement and updated to meet COSC chronometer standards. As far as the aesthetics are concerned, its construction is very similar to that of the 44mm. Starting with a stainless steel case, this wristwatch displays a black patina and bluish-grey matte dial, beige Arabic numerals, an orange seconds hand, and a leather-lined canvas strap for comfort. Positioned at the lower end of casual Swiss-made chronometers, the Ralph Lauren RL 67 Safari 39mm Chronometer will retail for $3,150 USD later this year.
