We are sad to announce that UK lifestyle boutique The Hideout has become the latest brick & mortar to succumb to the pressures of rent hikes and digital competition, thus forcing it to close its doors permanently. Originally opening in 1998 as Hit and Run, the independent clothier sought to mix the best streetwear brands Japan had to offer with both American and domestic-based labels for an retail experience that was never before seen in England. It became the first location to introduced brands like A Bathing Ape, visvim, NEIGHBORHOOD and more to its countrymen. Although The Hideout will be closing shop within the coming months, its umbrella distribution company Gimme5 will remain fully operational. For those in the London area, be sure to head over to the shop as it’ll surely have some attractive sales up until its final days.
