Juergen Teller Refuses to Shoot Miley Cyrus for Marc Jacobs

Despite the strong working relationship between photographer Juergen Teller and Marc Jacobs, the photographer recently rejected the opportunity to shoot Miley Cyrus for Marc Jacobs’ recent campaign. Although no further details were given about the decision, the rise of Miley Cyrus in 2013 was not without controversy which may have played into Teller’s decision. In regards to the decision to use Cyrus, Marc Jacobs stated “We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything. There’s nothing I don’t like about her. She is just genuine and very natural … We wanted this beach with girls kind of sulky and broody, and we thought it would be cool if it was Miley with what could be two friends, feeling distant and quite dark.”
