Bang & Olufsen has jumped into the streaming music market with the unveiling of its Essence streaming system. The Essence consists of a round aluminum controller and a white streaming unit. The controller features touch-sensitive controls and motion sensors, which allow the controller to play music when it detects someone walking into the room and to fade away when the person exits the room. The streaming unit is designed to stream music wirelessly and supports Apply AirPlay, DLNA streaming, Spotify Connect, QPlay and internet radio stations. The entire system costs $995 USD, with each additional controller costing $200 USD each. Expect the Essence to be available at Bang & Olufsen showrooms this spring. Find more information here.
