Aesop Kawaramachi by Torafu Architects

Australian cosmetics label Aesop has once again tapped Japan’s Torafu Architects to design its latest retail space, this time on Kawaramachi Street in Kyoto. Differing a bit from their three previous endeavors – including the opening of Aesop Shibuya just last year – Aesop Kawaramachi, designed and completely constructed in just four months, gets the most out of its two-story, 3.2 meter-wide space thanks to clever lighting, stone flooring, flexible shelving, and a neutral color palette offset with pale green fixtures throughout. Aesop Kawaramachi opened its doors this past November.
