A year after its initial introduction, Microsoft‘s Surface tablet gets an upgrade with the unveiling of the brand new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. Thinner, lighter and faster than its predecessor, Surface 2 comes powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, boasts an HD display perfect for 1080p video, and comes with USB 3.0 and microSD ports, 200GB of SkyDrive storage, and touch-optimized Office 2013 RT (complete with Outlook) – not to mention a built-in kickstand and the design’s signature keyboard/cover combo. Joining the Surface 2 is the powerful “Pro” version of the tablet – a design that features an Intel i5 processor, Windows 8.1, 512GB of flash storage (plus an additional 200GB of SkyDrive storage), a Pro Pen with “palm-blocking” technology, and more. The next-gen Surface tablets will be available to pre-order beginning September 24 for $449 USD and $899 USD, respectively.
