First released in 1986 as a long-distance runner – perfect for both on the road and off thanks to an updated traction pattern over its predecessor, the ZX500, an EVA midsole, and an external TPU heel counter for stability – adidas Originals‘ ZX700 returns for Fall/Winter 2013 in an apropos black/purple/maroon make-up. Intended for the harsh weather of the season thanks to the use of ripstop in place of the usual mesh, the kicks see maroon suede overlays applied to the black base while purple leather accents the Three Stripes branding, heel tab and heel counter. Additional hits of bright green provide contrast throughout. These are now available via Switzerland’s Titolo for about $148 USD.
